Voter registration deadline set for Sept. 1 primary

IPSWICH — Town Clerk Andrea Pappalimberis is reminding residents that Saturday, Aug. 22, is the deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation for the Sept. 1 state primary.

Residents may register to vote or update their party affiliation in person at Ipswich Town Hall until 5 p.m. on Aug. 22 or online through the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website.

The state primary will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Ipswich Family YMCA, 110 County Road. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The clerk’s office will also offer in-person early voting in the Town Hall gymnasium, 25 Green St., on the following schedule:

  • Saturday, Aug. 22: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Monday, Aug. 24: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 25: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 26: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, Aug. 27: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 28: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
